NexBank, a Dallas-based financial institution, is partnering with Dallas Neighborhood Homes, a nonprofit mortgage servicing provider, to provide affordable homes to families in southern Dallas.
Under Affordable Housing Loan Program, at least 100 loans will be provided over the next five years to low-income residents. Additionally, financial counseling will be offered by Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity. On top of providing mortgage capital, NexBank will pay title fees for closings for up to $2,000 per loan.
“We’re very grateful to NexBank for helping to make affordable home ownership a reality for so many people who need it. North Texas currently has one of the lowest ownership rates in the nation,” stated Mark Tribuna, Senior VP at Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity.
Nexbank is a regional financial institution with assets of $3.5 billion. The bank offers commercial banking and institutional services in addition to residential mortgages.
Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity is the biggest non-profit home builder in Dallas area. Over the past three decades, they built 1,600 homes. Their aim is to revitalize neighborhoods by bringing together public and private funding as well as working with community leaders and volunteers to break the cycles of poverty.
